You can read everything without an account. Signing in keeps your place, preferences and saved work available on every device.
Every text, study note and Read Aloud works straight away. Bookmarks, notes and reader settings are saved in this browser. Clearing browser data or switching devices means they won't be there.
Choose Sign in at the top of any page and use your Google account. The header shows Cloud sync on when you're signed in.

Connecting Google Classroom is separate from signing in. Teachers can connect a different Google account (the one they teach with), and students connect the account that's enrolled in the class. Disconnect Classroom removes the connection from Austi. To fully revoke it, also remove Austi from your Google Account's third-party connections. Learn more.
Reading activity is only shared when you choose Start sharing activity on an assignment, and only the teacher who created it can see it. The optional camera and gaze signals are processed on your device. Only simple categories are saved, never images or video.
Choose Sign out in the header when you've finished on a shared or school computer. Anything saved only in that browser stays there until the browser data is cleared. Don't share your sign-in with anyone else.
